So finally you have decided to lose weight but have you lost the weight from your mind yet? Have you got the right mindset to do it?
If yes then well congratulations and hope that you succeed on your journey with flying colors. Losing weight could be a simple process or a very difficult one, all depends upon how you take it.
I thought i would create this page just to share my 2 cents on how to prepare one’s mind first on achieving this goal, where many people fail to accomplish. Which is why i thought i would create this weird looking page title – “Lose weight from mind first!”.
Disclaimer – Some of the points discussed below may not apply to you directly or indirectly so please evaluate and take away pointers which would help you in achieving your fat loss goals.

Lose weight by making realistic smaller goals
You get motivated by seeing a well established body builder or a personality you admire, doing exercise and you want to become like him/her. You go to the gym the very next day and start lifting heavy weights and you know what happens next right!
You end up not showing up to the gym next 2-3 days maybe because of an injury or muscle cramps. All the energy gets consumed and suddenly you realize, there is not enough energy left to carry out rest of your daily activities. Instead of feeling good, you end up feeling tired, miserable and frustrated.
People ends up giving up on the goal and do not show up in the gym for i don’t know how long, maybe until another motivation hits him/her.
Your body gets into shock by this sudden change and the goal collapses in between.
Best way to handle this would be to let your body know that some change is coming and gradually increase the physical activities.
You can start with having Lemon juice with honey in lukewarm water on empty stomach and go for a 30 minutes brisk walk early in the morning.
Lemon juice with honey tends to cut down on fat and lukewarm water helps in detoxing the body.
Maintain this schedule for at least 1 week and then you can increase it by adding other activities like running/cycling/gym based on your interest.
Lose weight by not expecting miracles!
Hey, i have been working out for last 1-2 week and i don’t see any results. What’s happening? My belly is same as before.
Well, you don’t see miracles when loosing fat is concerned. Please expect real results to start showing up at least post 3-4 weeks of consistent exercise with balanced diet.
Consistency is the key here and proper balanced diet is a must. It is possible to lose weight with well balanced diet itself without doing any exercise but i would recommend to lose fat with some form of physical exercise.
Lose weight by maintaining motivation levels
People tend to loose motivation after sometime so it is equally important to keep the motivation levels high by remembering the sole reason behind you taking the fat loss commitment the first place.
Reasons could be many really right, it could be your breathe getting crunched when you tried to tie those shoe laces, or your shortness of breathe when your daughter or son tried to catch you or you tried to catch them.
Just remember those and keep the motivation going.
Some of the ways you can maintain it by saying affirmations 5-10 times after waking up in the morning or before going to bed, that you are going to succeed in whatever goals you have.
While are you doing that, please close your eyes and imagine yourself doing whatever you cannot do today with ease. Affirmations are really effective and powerful in making those goals of yours, go into your sub-conscious mind.
Friends can also play a major role in maintaining motivation levels as they push you towards it. Get a friend into your routines who shares similar goals and you will see each one of you pushing each other towards achieving goals.

Lose weight by clearly defining priorities
Ok i have been exercising for almost 2 months now, i can rest or skip my routine for today or may tomorrow.
There is a very important meeting coming up next week, i need to spend extra hours and complete presentation as quickly as possible.
Above are couple of scenarios which might come in everyone’s life where you tend to give higher priority to them then exercising or your fat loss commitment.
Everyone has their own priorities but as per me, my health holds higher priority on above 2 scenarios clearly because it is my body which will come to my rescue in difficult times when no one is around. I understand earning money is equally important but not at the risk of my health.
You decide, it is totally your choice!
Lose weight by meditation
Everything originates from mind whether it is good or bad so it is equally important to train one’s mind before taking anything else. So if you are not training your mind, most likely you are not going to succeed in your goals.
Below is a video which helped me to concentrate on my goal and not get distracted, please watch it and do it early morning for best results.
